Sundargarh (ST), Odisha
Fact
Sundargarh is one of Odisha's 21 Lok Sabha constituencies and is reserved for Scheduled Tribes. It covers Sundargarh district, in the north-west of the State, which includes the industrial city of Rourkela and the Bonai area where Jual Oram first won an Assembly seat.
Under the Delimitation Order of 2008, the constituency is made up of seven Assembly segments.

As Chairperson of the Defence Committee in the 17th Lok Sabha, he presided over its reports, including its 2023 report on the Inter-Services Organisations (Command, Control and Discipline) Bill (PRS Legislative Research).

As a minister he "does not sign the attendance register, ask questions, or introduce private member bills".

A Union Minister takes part in Parliament mainly by answering questions and laying statements for the Ministry, piloting its legislation and replying to debates. An empty attendance or questions column for a minister therefore does not mean the minister was inactive.

Statement laid in Parliament
Stated that 4,712 Van Dhan Vikas Kendras covering 12.94 lakh beneficiaries have been sanctioned in 28 States/UTs, with a total sanctioned amount of ₹642.19 crore, of which 3,406 are operational.

Stated that 728 EMRSs have been approved, of which 508 are functional, with 1,56,593 students enrolled in the 2025–26 academic session.

Implementation of Tribal Schemes
Statement laid, Lok Sabha
Stated in the Lok Sabha that DAJGUA comprises 25 interventions by 17 line Ministries to address infrastructure gaps in 63,843 villages, benefiting more than 5 crore tribal people in 549 districts and 2,911 blocks across 30 States/UTs over five years.

Procurement and Marketing of Minor Forest Produce
Statement laid, Lok Sabha
Stated that the Minimum Support Price list for Minor Forest Produce has grown from 10 items in 2013–14 to 87, and that ₹319.65 crore had been released to State Governments for procurement at MSP.

Status of EMRS and Ashram Schools

In a statement laid in the Lok Sabha, set out the EMRS criteria announced in the 2018–19 Union Budget and reported that 728 EMRSs had been approved, of which 479 were functional as on June 2025.

In a statement laid in the Rajya Sabha, stated that PM-JANMAN was launched on 15 November 2023 for 75 PVTG communities in 18 States and one Union Territory, through 11 interventions implemented by nine line Ministries, with an outlay of ₹24,104 crore (Central ₹15,336 crore; State ₹8,768 crore).
